Factory acceptance test(FAT) in Equipment Qualification


-A test conducted at the vendor’s premises to verify that the  system, equipment or utility, as assembled or partially assembled, meets expected specifications.


-The purpose of the FAT is the provide document evidence that the equipment is verified at the vendor site before it installed.

-Prior to installation of the equipment shall be confirmed to comply with URS at the vendor site if applicable.

-Equipment is constructed as per the customer’s requirement or not, Safety assessment shall be done before installation.

-If it can be shown that the functionality is not affected by the transport and installation.

-FAT may be supplemented by the execution of a SAT following the receipt of equipment at the manufacturing site.

-FAT Protocol shall be include following contents:
      Purpose
      Scope
      Procedure
      Following point need to be checked in FAT:
                    Design as per the requirement
                    MOC
                    Major components
                    Electrical connection
                    Critical Parameters (Functional Test)
                    Other accessories
                    Any software if available
                    Documents (Drawing, manual)
