Atherosclerosis is condition where artery become narrowed and harden because of excessive build up of plaques around the artery.
It can be dangerous it disrupts the blood flow and it can block the blood supply to the heart, triggering a heart attack,
or it can block the blood supply to the brain, triggering a stroke.
Arteries contain the layer which known as endothelium thin layer of cells that keeps the artery smooth and allows blood to flow.
Atherosclerosis starts when the endothelium becomes damaged, allowing LDL(low density lipid)-one type of cholesterol which accumulate in the artery wall.
sometimes the white blood cells(WBC) cells get stuck
there at the affected site. Over time
this result in plaque being built up,consisting of bad cholesterol (LDL cholesterol).
It also contain accumulation of white blood cells. The accumulation of the WBCs is termed "fatty streaks"
the formation of plaque and accumulation of white blood cells into the vessels may cause many cardiovascular disease, peripheral artery disease, stroke, angina
