Ion in Chemistry

Definition of ions:

Ion is the molecule or atom which has an electrical charge. Ion is formed by the loss or gain of the electron.

There are two types of Ions 

Anion and 

Cation

Definition of Cation in Chemistry:

The atom or molecule possesses a positive charge than it is known as the cation. Cation is formed by the loss of the electron.

Example of Catios: Na+

Definition of the anion in Chemistry:

The atom or molecule possesses a negative charge than it known as the anion. Anion is formed by the gain of the electron.

Example of anions: Cl-
